Rep. Nickel Needs Your Input

I recently sent a message to Rep. Wiley Nickel (D) (13th Congressional District) regarding the public funding of abortions to which I am opposed.  Below is his response (I have highlighted some areas for your consideration).  Notice that he didn't mention anything about my concern.  I responded back, but I believe he needs to hear from more of us.  Please consider doing so.

Wiley Nickel

13th District, North Carolina

Congress of the United States. House of Representatives. Washington, DC 20515

Dear Mrs. Mueller,

Thank you for contacting me about reproductive rights. Your views are important to me, and I appreciate hearing from you.

I believe that abortion is a health care issue, and that the government has no place making health care decisions for women. I trust women, in consultation with their doctors, to make the best decisions for their health and well-being without interference from politicians.

I understand that this is a very sensitive subject and that opinions on abortion can be deeply personal and vary widely within our community. However, I believe that it’s my duty to stand up for the rights of all women to access the health care they need, free from government interference.

The majority of people in North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District oppose the Supreme Court's reversal of Roe v. Wade and I stand with them in support of reproductive freedom and women's health.

Thank you again for contacting me. If my office can ever be of any assistance, please don’t hesitate to call us at 202-225-4531.

Please also visit my website to sign up for periodic updates from my office about the issues that are important to you and follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

It’s an honor to serve you in Congress.

Sincerely,

Wiley Nickel Signature.
